University of Kerbala Transportation Policy

To provide the greatest convenience for all students, staff, and visitors travelling to and from the university campus, the University of Kerbala has established the following transportation policy. These regulations priorities health and safety while also considering climate change mitigation.

1. Low Carbon: The University of Kerbala is dedicated to solving climate change concerns. Our mission includes reducing our carbon footprint. To reduce carbon emissions, we promote the use of public transportation, such as buses and shuttles, rather than private automobiles. Staff and students are not authorized to drive their automobiles to off-campus events sponsored by the university, such as field trips and scientific expeditions. Instead, buses are provided by the institution for these events. We also encourage the usage of electric and hybrid cars by providing free parking for them.
2. Vehicle Usage: All University of Kerbala vehicles must be utilized only for official university activities and events. For university vehicles or shuttles, age limitations and experience are required. These vehicles are not to be left outside the campus overnight or for lengthy periods unless prior arrangements have been made.
3. Parking Management System: To make travelling easier for staff and students, the University of Kerbala developed an integrated parking system. These parking lots are constructed with the best health and safety in mind and are provided with all required safety tools and equipment. To use the parking service, all employees must obtain permits. These permits are distributed through a controlled application system, which employees who want a parking place are recommended to use.
4. Bicycle and Pedestrian: Walking and cycling are encouraged as sustainable ways of travel at the University of Kerbala. Throughout the campus, we have safe bicycle parking. We also make certain that our campus is pedestrian-friendly, with well-kept paths, CCT cameras and crossings.
5. Carpooling and Ridesharing: To cut carbon emissions even further, the University of Kerbala encourages staff and students to carpool and rideshare. We provide a platform for people to connect and schedule shared trips, making transportation more effective and environmentally friendly.
6. Emergency: In the case of an emergency, the University of Kerbala has a protocol in place to assist affected individuals with quick transportation. This guarantees our university community’s safety and well-being at all times.
7. Accessibility for Disabled Individuals: The University of Kerbala is committed to providing equal access to the university and its services to all members of our community, including those with disabilities. In addition, we have installed a system of ramps and elevators across the campus to make moving easier for people who need wheelchairs or other mobility aids.
